Nee, Spyker gaat Lotus NIET overnemen, maar heeft vandaag wel bekendgemaakt dat men de samenwerking met Lotus gaat intensiveren. De twee ondernemingen hebben al vier jaar een samenwerkingsovereenkomst maar zijn nu een Parts and Platform Commonality Agreement (PPCA) overeengekomen, waarbij Lotus bepaalde onderdelen voor de Spyker C8 Aileron zal gaan leveren.
Het doel van de samenwerking is om technologie te delen en kosten te besparen.
