Mooi wagentje of niet? Nu alleen nog een naam...
Eerst dachten we dat er een verdwaalde techneut op de autoshow van Genève was gestrand, maar deze waggie is gemaakt door de bekende Franse coachbuilder HEULIEZ. Ze noemen het de “Friendly Electric” of “HEULIEZ Friendly” en het schijnt dat eenzelfde model vorig jaar reeds op de autoshow van Parijs te zien was. Dat model is vervolgens in productie gegaan dankzij financiële hulp van de Franse gemeente Poitou-Charentes.
Anyway, we hebben natuurlijk een pakkende naam nodig om dit karretje wat meer onder de aandacht van het grote publiek te krijgen. Dat leek me wel een leuke opdracht voor deze vrijdagavond, iemand suggesties? We zullen er zelf ook even over nadenken maar duiken nu eerst even de kroeg in, het was een drukke week!
HEULIEZ is to launch the new environment friendly vehicle under its own brand “HEULIEZ” is a 3-seater subcompact Electric Vehicle; its design, benefits from HEULIEZ’ 25 years of experience in electric vehicles. With its launch, The HEULIEZ group expects top position itself as a global leader in Electric Vehicles.
The group HEULIEZ is now positioned as a premier player in the market for electric vehicles with a design patented and exportable. The vehicle on the Mondial Automobile show 2008 has been produced with financial assistance from the Poitou-Charentes.
HEULIEZ urban friendly is an electric vehicle designed for the city and its outskirts which advocates strong values such as friendliness, respect for the environment and responsible conduct.
In terms of safety and quality, it is approved M1 European regulations with the same criteria for safety and quality for a vehicle thermal and allowed to drive on highways allowing it to be driven on all types of roads, meeting the same safety criteria as other passenger cars.
It is first “ecological, family and practice” with its standard version with a length of 2m50 which has three seats and a loading capacity of 400 liters. It is also a vehicle for public use ideal through 2 other versions: short (2m10) and long (2m90), which come in many models with load capacities of up to 1 650 liters.
The simple design of the original Friendly allows minimum maintenance and reparability simplified so friendly! The HEULIEZ Friendly shakes up current vehicle design technologies: it allows easy integration of forthcoming EV technological breakthroughs. The vehicle is to be produced at HEULIEZ’ with modern assembly facility in Cerizay starting with a production target of 10 000 units per year. HEULIEZ plans to market the FRIENDLY in early April 2010, initially addressing the EV needs of regional/municipal governments and rental car fleets, before opening to the private owner market in 2012.
The driving position is to maximize the livability in the longitudinal direction and allow access left or right. The two rear passengers are in turn on each side of the driver.
The central position of the driver enables to make the most of the space available in the longitudinal axis as well as allowing a left or right access to the passenger compartment. The two rear passengers sit slightly beside the driver. The Friendly has a “cage” type frame made of welded sections; its floor closes the complete lower surface, including the wheel housings.
The batteries are packed into the floor space; this allows the use of any type of batteries and thus lets the customer choose the range he prefers. The front end panel is made of thermoformed ABS topped by a glass windscreen and front quarter windows. The thermoformed ABS lower side panels offer a smooth, non aggressive surface and are easily replaced. The frameless glass boot lid can be folded up. The rear flap door and its inner panel are made of thermoformed ABS: it can be folded down for easy cargo loading. The side doors and their inner panels are made of thermoformed ABS.
The Friendly has a height of 1m50 to 1m55 wide. Its length varies versions: short (2m10), standard (2m50) and long (2m90).
Depending on the version and configuration of the Friendly, loading capacities are very different: 120 to 1 650 liters. It is a vehicle, whatever its configuration, is “urban friendly”.

Accessibility to front and rear is made by two sliding side doors.
The movement of doors without cutting offset. A deflection on the upper and lower the flag on the platform to optimize access.

POWERTRAIN, BATTERIES, CHASSIS:
The engine is located in a central position with a rear differential and transmission. Its rated power is 10 kw with an RPM max 9 000 rpm and a weight of 26 kg. The engine is designed for slopes to 17% and the following accelerations: 0 to 50 km / h in 7s and 50 to 80 km / h in 8 s. The space dedicated to engine allows the adaptation of engines of different powers to adapt to each user.
The energy board is provided by battery type NiMh (Nickel Metal Hydride). Its advantages: A reasonable price, use ultra-secure and no memory effect that allows it to recharge the battery at any level. The proposed batteries offer a range of 100 to 250 km depending on the version and allow a maximum speed of 110 km / h.
The available space on the vehicle helps to embark between 6 and 18 kwh and design helps to individualize the offer depending on the user profile.
The use of Li-Ion batteries can be considered by users for whom an important range is more crucial than the price. The rear axle is of the trailing arm type and is specifically designed according to the vehicle’s weight characteristics.
Several styling themes could be made available: « cosmetic » variations of the same basis would enable to integrate the car in various environments thus proposing a customized offer. The various layouts of the car offer an inexhaustible potential of uses in the urban commercial vehicle sector (Craftsmen, traders, public sector…)
The standard model with glazed upper rear quarters, dedicated to a family type use, will be made available in different versions from basic to top-of-the-range, always keeping the same vehicle architecture.
