Skoda klassieker
Gevonden in een parkeergarage in Keulen met veel andere klassiekers. Geen idee welk model (107?). Het design is best cool vind ik, heel clean en bijna zweeds. Iemand een odee welk model dit is

Da’s toch echt een Wartburg. Een Wartburg 353. Leuke soot!
Skoda is toch ook Zweeds ?
@timd: skoda is van volkswagen en volkswagen is duits dus ik denk dat skoda het dan ook is ;)
@pudi: skoda is origineel Zweeds. Als Volkswagen Ferrari zou kopen blijft het ook Italiaans :-)

The car in the picture is a Wartburg 353, 3 cyl 2 stroke engine, 45-50 hp … it has a metal body over steel chassis, front wheel drive and is basically carrying over old DKW construction principles into the 60s. So it was the Eastern German “cousin” of the DKW F102, the last 2-stroke DKW that later directly evolved into the first Audi 60. The Wartburg 353 arrived in 1966 and was even kind of state-of-the-art back then, save the two-stroke engine (Saab made them exactly up to 1966, for example, but in Eastern Germany they had no money to develop a 4-stroke engine).
Skoda is a very traditional brand from Czech Republic, in fact going back to 1895 and one of the olders carmakers in the world. They were taken over by VW after the German reunion. The only thing a Skoda has in common with the Wartburg is that it also was available for Eastern German motorists :)
Last not least the cars with “plastic” or rather compressed paper-glue-stuff as body panels were called Trabant, they were MUCH smaller than both Wartburg and Skodas. They were more like Austin Minis in size.
