Mercedes Benz 500SL AMG (R107)
Zo te zien een originele 500SL AMG, waarvan ik het bestaan niet eens wist. Dit exemplaar is uit februari 1981. Dit kan ik erover vinden op de site van Bonhams Cars auction in augustus 2024: "For its latest iteration (R107) of the SL, Mercedes started with the chassis of the mid-size W114/115 model and sourced engines from the large W116 S-Class. The result was a luxurious V8 Convertible with continent-crushing performance wrapped in a timeless, crisp design that went on to become the longest-running passenger car series ever produced by Mercedes-Benz to date. But even with the V8 engine, some clients felt the R107 could do with a bit more excitement. For those clients with the necessary resources, tuning house AMG would gladly upfit any Mercedes-Benz to address any perceived shortcomings. AMG could transform the SL from boulevardier to a true sports roadster with greatly improved power, handling dynamics, and a full complement of attention-grabbing cosmetic addenda. Each car specified by an AMG customer was bespoke, with à-la-carte options offered from the company's expansive catalogue."
