Ginetta komt met kleinere, lichte G40

De kleine Britse bouwer van sportauto's en racewagens, Ginetta, heeft bekend gemaakt dat ze in januari 2010 de kleine G40 op de markt willen brengen. Dit model moet onder de G50 op de markt komen.

Ginetta streeft er naar om de G40 slechts 850 kilo te laten wegen. Onder de motorkap vinden we een 1.8 liter grote viercilinder die afkomstig is van Zetec. De G40 is in eerste instantie ontworpen om mee te racen, zoals in het Ginetta Junior Championship, maar moet ook gebruikt kunnen worden op de openbare weg. Volgens Ginetta is de rolkooi maar liefst 50 keer sterker dan de eisen die de FIA stelt.

In januari zal de productie van start gaan en Ginetta wil in eerste instantie 26 exemplaren bouwen. De prijs is £24.950. Of er ook een elektrische variant komt, zoals bij de G50, is nog niet bekend. (via: ginettacars.com)

Almost two years since it launched the highly successful G50, Ginetta will produce an initial batch of twenty six G40's in January 2010 with pricing set at £24,950.
