Één van de merken om het meest naar uit te kijken wat betreft de aankomende autosalon van Genève, is Pagani. Als alles volgens planning loopt presenteren zij daar de opvolger van de nu al legendarische Zonda: de C9.
Op de foto’s zie je een auto die heel erg op de Zonda lijkt, maar het is een mule. In deze mule gaat het onderstel en de techniek schuil van de Pagani C9. De C9 zal opnieuw worden voorzien van een krachtbron van AMG. We hebben het in dit geval over een biturbo, 6,0 liter V12 die ook te vinden is in de SL65 AMG Black Series. Deze levert waarschijnlijk zo’n 700 pk. De grotere luchtinlaten zijn nodig om deze motor en turbo’s te koelen. Hoe die motor klinkt? Lekker!
Ook tref je in onderstaande gallery beeld van het interieur aan, waarop de verschillen met de Zonda te zien zijn. Ga er vanuit dat de C9 in deze tijden van crisis lak heeft aan je portemonnee en dat deze duurder wordt dan de Zonda. Iemand moet natuurlijk betalen voor die nieuwe fabriek.

I see the same very very old photos, did in mojave desert about 12/15 months ago, during the famous engine resistance test, because the C9 will have the same engine block of mercedes amg sl65 black series, but with 48 valves and different turbochargers, and a lot of upgrades by amg, only for Pagani Auto… so, the C9 (name is secret for now… no more “Zonda”), will be very different to the car in the photos, that is only a Zonda-based mule with the next v12 twinturbo engine!!
In my computer I have some photos of the real C9 mule, did few days ago, but the car have a total camouflage, and you can’t see no one detail of the next Pagani amazing supercar… bye!

Gezien de positie van de uitlaten en het ronde deel waar ze voorheen in zaten kan ik me niet voorstellen dat deze auto de echte is, dat ziet toch elke idioot dat dat niet klopt?

Niet te geloven, mensen die denken wat van auto’s te weten, en vervolgens niet weten wat een mule is. Schrijf het woord eens 1000 keer over met z’n betekenis voordat je gaat zeggen dat ie er lelijk uit ziet en gewoon een oud model is. De SLS ziet er nu toch ook niet uit als een Viper? Zolang er nog geen officiele foto’s van de buitenkant zijn verschenen kan het gewoon een oude body zijn om mee te testen.

Things are progressing nicely with the development on the replacement Pagani Zonda, known internally as the C9, and the test mule is now over in the US as part of its ongoing durability trials. Don’t be fooled by similar stylign cues with other Zondas in these photos though, as this is just the running prototype that uses modified Zonda bodywork to hide the newly developed equipment.
Mercedes will be supplying the engine for the new car, Pagani has been utilising some of Mercedes worldwide test facilities (including those in the US) as the C9 is the first Pagani designed to be a world car.
The powerplant of the C9 is thought to be a supercharged V8 from the McLaren SLR 722 or a twin turbo V12 from the recently debuted Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series providing motivation for the Zonda F. The gearbox has been confirmed and the C9 is to receive an all new sequential unit. (We Like!)
Also be sure to take note of the enormous 335/30/ZR20 Pirelli Pzero Rosso tires in back and 255/35/ZR19 tires in front. Sitting inside the wheels are equally enormous carbon ceramic brake rotors
When the finished production unit is finally revealed at the Geneva Auto Show in March 2010, production at a new facility in Modena will start straight away and some of the first cars are already destined to be delivered to the US. In the meantime we’ve got the track-only Zonda R to look forward to later this year and the five special Zonda Cinque being built as a celebration of the great Pagani Zonda. When the new car finally arrives expect it to be priced somewhere between the Zonda F and the Bugatti Veyron 16.4. 2010 Can’t seem to arrive soon enough!

WATCH out Ferrari – Pagani is developing a replacement for the Zonda! Caught testing in Italy, our spy photographers shot this prototype putting its new engine, advanced aerodynamics and totally fresh chassis through their paces.
Dubbed C9, the newcomer gets a modified body, which features a new front end, redesigned rear quarter panels to allow for larger air inlets, a redesigned rear diffuser and a totally new air scoop that sticks up from the middle of the engine cover.
Underneath lies a carbon-titanium chassis and forged aluminum alloy suspension components. Conceived as a totally new car in terms of weight distribution, materials and dynamics, according to company boss Horacio Pagani, the C9 is powered by an all-new engine too.
Just out of sight in these pictures is a Mercedes’ SL65 Black Series, which Pagani has been using for development purposes. The C9 will get its 6.0-litre bi-turbo V12, dropping the old 7.0-litre V12 in the process. The firm is keen to keep this secret – just check out the black coverings on the normally clear engine panels.
Producing around 700bhp and 1000Nm of torque, the C9 should be able to do 0-60mph in under three seconds and accelerate onto a top speed in excess of 225mph.
Making sure all this power goes to the road are bespoke Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tyres – 335/30/ZR20 section at the rear and 255/35/ZR19 at the front – while enormous carbon ceramic brake discs ensure the C9 stops as well as it goes.
In addition, the C9 will use advanced active aerodynamics, following in the wake of Ferrari’s 458 Italia. Expect the new model to debut at a major motor show this year, before sales start in 2011 with a price tag of around £750,000.

I don’t care about the place of the photos… what I want to say, is that the car in these “spyshots” is the same 2 years old ZondaF-based mule, that run all around the world from 2008, to develope next C9 lay-out: v12 twin-turbo 700 cv engine, 7 speed amt gearbox (already developed by Pagani for Zonda R), and rear drivetrain… I have tons of photos of this car, and I saw videos too… everybody saw… nothing special, nothing to hide, nothing “to spy”… so, my special Pagani insider told me that Horacio has already built 4 (!!) entirely new prototype of C9, and now he’s hard testing all 4 supercars… than, unfortunately, he told me that the new Pagani product will not show at Genevè…

De Pagani Zonda veroverde direct bij het aanschouwen ervan, een plaats in mijn Top 5 meest gewilde auto’s, maar dit is gewoon jammer.

yesterday (tuesday) fresh news from my Pagani insider:
the C9 final version reach 411 kph (!!!) in a test in South Africa Republic… the 0-100 kph was covered in only 2.5 seconds, like a ferrari fxx!!
